EmDash sends email for sign-in links, form notifications and comment alerts, but it needs a delivery provider to do it. EmDash SMTP is that provider: pick the email service you already pay for, add a fallback, and see every delivery in a log.
Providers
Amazon SES, Brevo, Elastic Email, Emailit, Gmail, Mailchimp Transactional (Mandrill), MailerSend, Mailgun, Mailjet, Microsoft 365, Postmark, Resend, SendGrid, SMTP2GO, SparkPost and Zoho Mail work through their APIs. The Node version also supports any SMTP server and local sendmail.
Two versions
- emdash-smtp runs in your site's process and supports every provider, including plain SMTP and sendmail.
- emdash-smtp-marketplace runs in EmDash's plugin sandbox and supports the API and OAuth providers. It's the one headed for the EmDash plugin registry.
Install one or the other, not both.

Which version should I install?
On Node hosting, emdash-smtp supports everything, including plain SMTP. On Cloudflare, or if you prefer sandboxed plugins, use emdash-smtp-marketplace with an API provider.
Can I send through Gmail or Microsoft 365?
Yes. Both connect with OAuth, and tokens refresh automatically.
Do other plugins need it?
Any plugin that sends email, such as Paid Access sign-in links or Contact Forms notifications, needs an email provider plugin like this one.
